It is estimated there are anything up to 90 million unwanted mobile phones in the UK alone. We see recycling as a key part in the sustainability of the mobile phone industry. Mobile phones have raw materials which can be reused which can have a major impact on reducing environmental damage.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is a directive from the European Community, it is easy, green and you will also be helping a good cause.
Mobile phones contain plastics, metals, electronics, silicones and chemical waste such as batteries that contain cadmium, lithium and mercury etc. We will ensure that your phones are ethically recycled according to the WEEE directive and NOT put into landfill sites where they can cause environmental damage.
Olicomm Consultants make a donation to our nominated charity for each mobile phone sent to us, we will then recycle in an environmentally friendly way.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices provide care and support to families who have children with life-threatening conditions or complex health care needs which require palliative care and as such are our Chosen Charity. They also support families who are bereaved of a child. This is agreed on an individual basis depending on the type of bereavement support needed and the availability of other bereavement services locally. Families can choose where they would like to be cared for – either at home, in one of the hospices or a combination of both.
